Walk in my Shoes

I sometimes wonder what it would be like to walk in somebody else’s shoes. Not because I’m not happy in my life or because I want to be someone else, but because I wonder what stories and secrets those shoes could be holding (and, if I’m honest, because some people’s shoes are just so pretty). I sometimes feel that we miss so much beauty around us. I started taking these pictures after coming back from a walk with my family. I just happened to look down and I saw beauty in the most normal and everyday of things – the paving slabs in our garden. I took a picture of my feet and shoes on those slabs, and after that I started to find myself looking down a lot. Since I love taking photos, I decided to start a photographic journal of my everyday journeys. From the start, the photos themselves were never the point. There are no professional techniques used here — every photo is from the not-amazing camera on my phone. It’s about what’s in the photo, something you might not notice ordinarily. So, this is a photographic journal of my year, looking down. We are so often told to keep our heads up and keep looking forward, but I don’t think it’s a problem to look down every once in a while. I will be taking the photos using my iPhone. I hope you enjoy it as much as me xx
