Its been a long time coming but my Walk in My Shoes Book is finial finished and ready to order.
From the start, the photos themselves were never the point. There are no professional techniques used here – every photo is from the not-amazing camera on my phone. It’s about what’s in the photo, something you might not notice ordinarily.
I took a picture of my feet and shoes on those slabs, and after that I started to find myself looking down a lot. Since I love taking photos, I decided to start a photographic journal of my everyday journeys.

Whilst reading one of my favourite blogs a creative mint, I came across this amazing book Mastering the art of fabric printing and design you may not know that I have a degree in printed textiles but that was some many moons ago and its nice to refresh your skills and learn from others and this book is great.
The book explains step by step how to create digital patterns using different software such as Photoshop and Illustrator, The author also covers all other aspects of printing your own fabrics.
This book is great and really informative.

As you may already know (from reading one of my Sunday flowers posts) I am embarking on a new career and starting a floristry course in September with the dream of one day opening my own florist’s shop (any name suggestions would be a great help — leave a comment on this post). Having very little knowledge of the business side of things I read some reviews on Amazon and decided to put this amazing book on my Christmas list. I have since not been able to put it down and have started making notes to refer back to later. This book is so easy to read and very practical, it’s essential reading for anyone who wants to know more about the business side of this fascinating industry!

I recently received a package in the post full of floristry books that I wanted to share with you.
- Buying and running a florist shop – by Alan Peck
- The Encylopaedia of flower arranging techniques – by Marcia Hurst
- The beginners guide to floristry - by Rosmary Batho ~ Judith Kay ~ Bernice Waugh
- Jane Packers flower course – by Jane packer
- vintage flowers – by Vic Brotherson
You can get all these books from amazon

I got a little surprise in the post this morning, and haven’t been able to put it down (until writing this post). It’s the secound book by Bowie Style: Print & Pattern 2 and I think I love it just as much as, or even more than, the first one. So go and buy it now or even visit the website.

If you have been following one of my projects (Rubber Duckie) you may be happy to know you can now order the book.
